Substitute School Nurse

New Milford Public Schools, a growth-oriented, progressive K‑12 public school district in Bergen County, is looking to hire substitute nurses for the 2026‑2027 school year.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse of New Jersey
• Current certification in CPR

Primary Responsibilities

• Stand in for school nurses during absences
• Attend field trips as needed for medically compromised students
• Attend school‑organized activities as needed
• Follow school district standing orders
• Administer first aid as per district policy
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered and per district policy
• Document all encounters in the electronic health record or appropriate method
• Communicate with home‑base nurses
• Adhere to all district rules, regulations, and policies
