Job summary

The Asbury Park School District is looking for a Substitute School Nurse to advocate for the health and well-being of students and staff. Responsibilities include health screenings, emergency first aid, and caring for ill students. Candidates must hold a current New Jersey RN License and CPR certification.

This is an on-call position as needed, to fill in during the absence of full-time nurses. Reports are made to the Building Principal and Supervisor of Special Services.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License.
• Must have current CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Valid driver's license with no serious violations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary advocate for health and well-being of students.
• Conduct health screenings and provide emergency first aid.
• Care for students who are ill or injured.

Nature And Scope Of Job

The Substitute School Nurse will serve as the primary advocate for the health and well‑being of students and staff within the assigned school. Responsibilities include but are not limited to health screening and services, emergency first aid, the care of those who are ill and/or injured while in the school, maintenance of health records.

Minimum Qualifications

• Hold a current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License in order to qualify for the NJDOE Substitute Nurse Certificate
• Hold a current CPR and First Aid Certification
• Hold and maintain a valid driver's license with no serious violations

Terms

• $47 per hour
• On call/as needed in the absence of full‑time school nurses
• Reports to the Building Principal and Supervisor of Special Services
