This non-exempt role reports to the Transportation Supervisor and requires a CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, as well as a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
• Clean driving record.
• Background check and drug test required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a school bus and transport students to and from school, athletic events, and other school-related activities.
• Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving the bus.
• Maintain a clean and safe bus environment for students.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure it is in good working condition.
• Communicate with school administration and parents regarding bus routes and schedules.
• Manage student behavior on the bus and enforce school district policies and procedures.
• Assist students with getting on and off the bus safely.
• Report any accidents, incidents, or mechanical issues to the appropriate school personnel.
