Job summary

Goodrich ISD is seeking a Substitute Bus Driver in Goodrich, Texas to provide safe student transportation on assigned routes and support extracurricular activities. Qualifications

• Texas commercial driver’s license (Class B) with School Bus Endorsement is required.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug tests.
• Ability to complete required bus driver safety training.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
• Knowledge of student discipline procedures.
• Ability to manage student behavior.
• Ability to operate a school bus.

Responsibilities

• Follow assigned route and schedules.
• Drive bus to and from activities.
• Check bus for mechanical defects before/after operation.
• Report accidents, damages, injuries and mechanical failures.
• Keep bus clean and fueled.
• Supervise students boarding and exiting the bus.
• Communicate with teachers and parents about student behavior.
• Maintain discipline and report issues to administration.
• Observe traffic laws and safety regulations.
