Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 19 by the first day of the school year and have three years driving experience.
• Must have a clean driving record or be willing to train for CDL.
• Must pass physical examination as prescribed by Virginia DOE.

Responsibilities

• Drive school bus and transport students to and from school.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus.
• Washes and cleans the bus inside and out.
• Fuels bus as required and adheres to safety policies.
• Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations for school buses.
• Transports only authorized students and maintains discipline.
• Reports accidents and completes required reports.
• Conduct periodic emergency bus evacuation drills.
• Transports students to events and field trips.
• Records mileage and maintains various logs and reports.
