Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet all requirements established by the Department of Transportation and Michigan Department of Education.
• Valid driver’s license with necessary endorsements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a school bus and adheres to designated time schedules for transporting students to and from various destinations.
• Supervises loading/unloading of students, ensuring belt usage and release to authorized individuals.
• Upholds order and discipline among passengers and documents incidents.
• Conducts accident investigations as needed.
• Maintains bus cleanliness and reports mechanical issues; performs routine maintenance.
• Collaborates with parents and staff to optimize drop-off and pickup schedules and adjust routes as needed.
• Follows routing and scheduling, reviews bus stop locations for safety and efficiency.
• Monitors students with health requirements and ensures well-being during rides.
• Maintains records (mileage, routing, maintenance, schedules).
• Represents the school professionally at meetings and trainings.
