You will work collaboratively with the teacher to ensure the successful operation of a classroom, while helping to build a better future for the children, their families, and our communities.

Job Responsibilities

• Work effectively with other teachers in the assigned classroom and center
• Support the social and emotional development of children and use "positive guidance" approaches to dealing with challenging behaviors
• Encourage the involvement of the families of the children in a Head Start program and support the development of relationships between children and their families
• Follow all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and other aspects of center operations
• This position is part‑time, all year round, called in as needed, and earns $15.13 per hour during center hours (7:30 am – 5:30 pm)

Additional Information

• Potential Substitute Teacher hours are between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm
• Center Location: 310 Augusta Street, South Amboy, NJ 08879

Pre‑Hire Requirements

• Upon hire, two valid IDs, two reference letters, physical exams and TB tests, fingerprint screening (CHRI), and background checks (CARI) are required
• Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation
• All new hires must attend four days (Tuesday – Friday: 9 am – 3 pm) of mandatory New Employee Orientation Training at the South Amboy Center upon completion of pre‑hire documents
