Job summary

East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT) is seeking a Substitute Instructor for the Cosmetology Department. The role covers Cosmetology, Aesthetics, Nails, and Barbering, providing instruction during normal teacher absences.

Under supervision, you will deliver prepared lesson plans, supervise students, maintain a positive learning environment, and report on student progress to the regular instructor, ensuring continuity in learning.

Qualifications

• Arizona Board of Cosmetology Instructor's License is required prior to scheduling interview.
• IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card is required by first day of employment.
• Proof of Measles, Mumps and Rubella immunization.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction and supervision during the temporary absence of a regular teacher.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment while implementing lesson plans.
• Engage students in meaningful learning activities and support academic progress.

Applications are being accepted to establish a pool of qualified candidates for the position of Substitute Instructor for our Cosmetology Department (Cosmetology, Aesthetics, Nails, Barbering)

Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Substitute Teacher provides classroom instruction and supervision during the temporary absence of a regular teacher. The Substitute Teacher is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and positive learning environment while implementing lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher. The role requires engaging students in meaningful learning activities, and supporting their academic progress. Substitutes will also prepare reports and feedback for the regular teacher regarding student participation and performance.

Job Type: Non-Exempt, As-needed

Qualifications:

• Valid Arizona Board of Cosmetology Instructor's License (Required Prior to Scheduling Interview)
