Job summary

Macon Program For Progress seeks a Substitute to support classrooms in Franklin, NC. This role covers 29 hours per week, stepping in to ensure smooth transitions, planned activities, and consistent supervision of children in accordance with daily lesson plans.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, CPR/First Aid, and a willingness to obtain a CDL bus license if needed, with experience in guiding young children in a nurturing and safe environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide seamless staff coverage to allow for routine breaks, planning and special activities.
• Ability to collaborate and work with the Lead Teacher and Teacher in assigned classrooms and follow the daily lesson plan for assigned or scheduled classroom.
• Ability to apply Early Childhood Development theory to daily classroom activities and adapts the theory to the individualized needs of children.
• Ability to act supervise and maintains safety of children by following indoor and outdoor environment safety rules, routines and procedures.
• Relates to children in a calm, caring, and nurturing manner and uses age appropriate child guidance techniques.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required;
• CDA or AA preferred.
• Two years experience working with children preferred
• CPR and First Aid Certification at time of hire or achieve within first 6 weeks of hire
• Valid NC drivers license and willing to get a CDL bus license.
