Job summary

Portage Township Schools is seeking a Special Education Para Professional Substitute to support K-12 students. Duties include tutoring individuals or small groups, supervising students, reading aloud, and assisting with AV, media and technology for instruction.

Qualifications: a high school diploma and one of the following—associates degree or higher, two years of college (48 credits), ParaPro score 460, CDA credential, or willingness to complete 10 modules of Paraeducator training within two

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following responsibilities are essential functions, plus any other duties that may be required by the employer. Specific duties and responsibilities will be assigned by the building principal or other administrator.

• Tutor individual and small groups of students as directed by the teacher.
• Facilitate student tasks in activity centers.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum education, experience, knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.

• A high school diploma and any one of the following:
• Associates degree or higher OR
• Two years of college (48 credit hours) OR
• ParaPro Assessment with a score of 460 OR
• Child Development Associate (CDA) credential OR
• Be willing to complete 10 modules in the online training platform Paraeducator within 2 months of employment at PTS (free training resources provided by PTS)
