Job summary

Kerrville Independent School District is looking for a Substitute/ School Nurse Substitute to implement health services tailored to meet the demands of the student population. This role involves delivering health services, as well as promoting health education and preventive health practices among students.

The ideal applicant is required to have a valid registered nurse license and a background in professional nursing education.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
• Valid registered nurse license (RN) or (LVN) from the Texas Board of Nursing (Required upon hire).

Responsibilities

• Administers medications and treatments as ordered.
• Provides care for student and staff illness and accidents.
• Administers care based on individual health care plans and individual emergency care plans.
• Serves as liaison between the home and the school regarding student health concerns.
• Documents all encounters in the Electronic Health Record.
• Follows communicable disease control procedures and informs administration and/or parents regarding school exclusion and readmission.
