Job summary

Flowing Wells School District is seeking a dedicated Custodian to maintain clean, safe classrooms and facilities across the campus. The role requires hands-on cleaning, basic maintenance, and adherence to district safety rules.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, at least one year of custodial experience, and a valid Arizona driver's license. The position is non-exempt and eligible for benefits only above 30 hours per week; scheduling may vary and some duties include after-hours work

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in custodial or related field preferred.
• Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dusts, and mops floors, vacuums carpets, and dusts windows and furniture.
• Wipes clean chalkboards and rails.
• Removes graffiti, gum, candy, etc. from walls and under desks.
• Empties wastebaskets and other trash containers.
• Cleans window interiors/exteriors, and cleans and sanitizes bathroom fixtures.
• Performs minor maintenance repairs.
• Replaces lamps and bulbs as necessary.
• Procures, stores, distributes and manages custodial supplies and equipment to insure maximum economy and effectiveness.
• Locks and secures all areas of campus.
• Complies with school district Safety Manual Rules and Regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.

General Information:

Maintains the school buildings in a neat and clean condition to provide a clean environment conducive to learning.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
• Skills in methods, use of supplies and tools, and operation of equipment used in custodial work.

• Ability to work cooperatively and courteously with staff, students, parents and community members.
• Knowledge of applicable Federal and State laws, district procedures and Board policies.
• Ability to handle confrontation and conflict without an emotional response.
• Skills in time management.
