Job Description

Scope of Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist students with on-task behavior and completion of teacher assigned tasks including hand over hand assist if needed
• Assist students with questions regarding assignments
• Accompany/escort students in exploratory classes and therapy sessions as needed
• Supervise independent or small group work
• Assist in necessary record keeping including data collection or health records
• Assist in preparation of instructional materials and supplies and clean up
• Administer alternative testing accommodations when needed
• Escort students to various parts of the building
• Assist with student arrival and departure
• Attend to students physical needs including, toileting, lifting for transfers to/from wheelchair
• Attend to students medical needs under direction of school nurse such as GI Tube feeding, suctioning and care of tracheotomy
• Administer medication and/or oxygen per Physicians orders
• Monitor and implement behavior intervention plans if necessary
• Accompany students in all physical activities including in the swimming pool if necessary
• Follow directions of classroom teacher, therapists or other professional staff
