Job summary

The Hudson City School District is seeking Substitute Laborers for district-wide manual labor tasks. The role requires physical endurance and the ability to perform menial tasks under constant oversight.

• Cleans and maintains the interior and exterior of buildings and grounds.
• Performs unskilled work in concrete, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical tasks.
• Load and unload trucks; carries supplies and tools.
• Performs a variety of groundskeeping activities including snow removal and lawn care.

Substitute Laborer Positions

Location: District wide

Days/Hours: As Needed

Rate of Pay: $17.00/hour

(Budget Code -1620-170-00-000)

Minimum Qualifications: None is required but some experience in manual labor is desirable.

LABORERS

Distinguishing Features of the Class: This is routine manual work requiring no previous training and experience, but requiring physical endurance and willingness to perform menial tasks. Constant oversight is maintained over work at all times. Does related work as required.

TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: (ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY)

• Cleans and maintains the interior and exterior of buildings and grounds
• Performs unskilled work in concrete, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, masonry and landscaping work
• Load and unload trucks
• Carries supplies and tools
• Labor work as needed
• Performs a variety of groundskeeping activities including but not limited to: snow removal, mowing and trimming lawns, planting and weeding
• Laborers with Columbia County may take instruction from and report to the Sr. Building Maintenance Worker and/or Facilities Administration.
• Columbia County Laborers may be required to pick up and carry messages, documents, packages, and other items between offices or departments within an establishment or to other business concerns, traveling by foot, automobile, or public conveyance.
