Job summary

King’s Way Christian Schools is seeking an on-call Food Service Worker to support our main and auxiliary kitchens in Vancouver, WA. This seasonal, part-time role involves meal prep, service, and cleanup with no guaranteed hours.

Ideal candidates hold a Washington State Food Handlers Card, have basic food prep skills, and can operate a POS system. The position requires lifting up to 50 lbs and a commitment to Christian values.

We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Food Service Worker to join our pool of on-call Kitchen Assistants. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our main and auxiliary kitchens, ensuring the provision of nutritious meals to students. This is an on-call position that involves meal preparation, service, and cleanup activities. There is no guarantee of hours and work is on an as needed basis.

Responsibilities:

Position Details:

Position Details: $17.13 - $19.29 / hour based on experience. Working on-call to fill in peak needs or for staffing shortages. The kitchen runs year round with reduced service during K-12 school breaks.

QualificationsRequired Education, Experience, and Skills:

• Possession or ability to obtain a Washington State Food Handlers Card
• Basic food preparation skills; knife skills preferred
• Comfortable operating a computer for a point of sale and timekeeping
• 2 years of culinary, or food service experience preferred
• A personal faith in Jesus Christ, exhibiting Christian character and a commitment to excellence
• A passion for hospitality and desire to care for students and staff
• The candidate selected for this position will be required to pass a background check;
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, sit and kneel for extended periods;
• Reports to the Food Services Director
