Great Hearts Academies in Phoenix is seeking a Substitute K-5 Specially Designed Instruction Teacher to support students with IEPs inside inclusion settings. The role reports to the Headmaster and is non-exempt, hourly, with an hourly rate starting at $30.

The substitute will develop lesson plans aligned with IEP goals, provide targeted instruction, and assist with data collection and progress monitoring. Arizona teaching credentials or alternatives are required; travel locally may be involved.

Qualificações

• 1 year of successful teaching experience (K-12).
• Arizona teaching certificate for substitute or special education required or eligible for alternative certification.

• Provide one-on-one or small-group specially designed instruction for students with IEPs based on IEP goals.

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Hourly

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Develop lesson plans for learning activities that align with individual student IEP goals that are created under supervision of a certified special education teacher or coordinator.

• Provide one on one or small groupspecially designed instructionin academics, behavioral or social/emotional need areasfor students with IEPs based on IEP goals

• Assist with data collection and progress monitoring of students IEP goals

Required/Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree and Arizona Teaching Certificates Substitute, Special Education Teaching Certificate, or Alternative Certification.

**Required/Preferred Experience:**

• 1 year of successful teaching experience (preferably in a K-12 school setting)

• 1 year of successful Special Education teaching experience (preferred)

• The ideal candidate has previous experience in Special Education.

Required/Preferred Skills: Certifications: Arizona Department of Education Substitute Certification, Special Education Certificate in Cross/Categorical or Mild/Moderate; Alternative Teaching with approved area in Mild/Moderate Disabilities.

Physical Functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.

US work authorization is** **required, but we do accept OPT/CPT candidates.

Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.

Travel required: May need to travel locally for training and professional development opportunities.
