Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual in Yup’ik and English preferred.
• Experience working with young people with special needs in a school setting preferred.
• Ability to carry out instructional activities with minimum supervision.
• Willingness to participate in training programs.
• Current first aid/CPR certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works with specific students to present and reinforce lessons planned by the teacher.
• Sets up and operates equipment required by specific students.
• Assists students with non-instructional classroom duties.
• Supervises students during lunch and play periods.
• Alerts the teacher of any problems regarding students.

Skills

Bilingual in Yup’ik and English

Effective communication with teachers, students, and parents
