Job summary

St. Catherine of Siena School in Seattle is seeking an on-call substitute teacher for our Kindergarten-8th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. Hours vary with typical shifts from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM.

You will be notified by call/text by 5:45 AM if needed for the day, with future scheduled days communicated as needs arise. The substitute will teach according to substitute lesson plans, support students, and help maintain a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of teaching experience with K-8 students.
• Experience working in a school environment preferred.
• Comfortable working in a faith-based, Catholic environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Teach lessons according to substitute lesson plans and support student learning.
• Collaborate with staff and assist in maintaining an orderly classroom environment.
• Foster healthy peer interactions and support diverse needs.
• Close out the day and prepare the classroom for the next morning.

Applicants need to have a minimum one year's teaching experience working with K-8 students, preferably in a teaching capacity in a school environment.Schedule: Hours vary based on availability and need. Typical substituting hours are 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM. This schedule varies based on staff absences.
