The Wayne County Schools Career Center is accepting applications for the position of:

Substitute High School Academic Teacher: English, History, Math, Science, CTE

Please read the following documents listed on this page.

Substitute Pay

• Workdays 1-30: $120.00 per day
• Workdays 31+: $140.00 per day

Orientation and Onsite Training

• Please call our office at330-669-7000, Ext. 6000, to schedule an orientation and onsite training session. This training will include classroom management strategies and other important information to help you be successful as a substitute.

Substitute Teaching License

• A valid Ohio Teaching or Substitute Teaching License is required for this position. Applicants who currently hold a valid Ohio Teaching or Substitute Teaching License must provide a copy for our records.
• Applicants who do not currently hold an Ohio teaching license must apply for an Ohio Substitute Teaching License through the Ohio Department of Education. The license application may be submitted prior to attending orientation.

Background Check Requirement

• As part of the licensure process, applicants must complete both a BCI & FBI criminal background check at Tri-County ESC located at 741 Winkler Dr., Wooster, OH 44691. If you have completed a BCI & FBI background check at Tri-County ESC within the past 12 months, copies of those results may be accepted. Background checks are available Monday-Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Please bring a vaild driver's license or passport and your Social Security Card. Board Approval

• Your employment will then be submitted forBoard approval.

Public School Works (PSW) Training

• All substitutes are required to completePublic School Works (PSW) training. Once you are hired and assigned a district email address, our Administrative Assistant will create a PSW login for you.

  You will be compensated forup to three hours of training. A completed timesheet must be submitted to your supervisor for payment.

Substitute List and Frontline Absence Managment

• Once all required training has been completed, you will be placed on our substitute list. You will then receive an email with information regarding yourFrontline Absence Management (Aesop)login and instructions for accessing the system.
