Job summary

Arc Broward is seeking a Substitute ESE Teacher to support students transitioning from high school toward adult services, focusing on employment and workforce readiness. The role involves collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, participating in TIEP meetings for long-term substitutes, and upholding ethical standards.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a related field, an active FL ESE Certification, 1 year of experience, proficiency with MS Office tools, and a valid Florida

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, social services, education, or related field.
• Must have ESE Teacher Certification upon hire.
• Minimum of 1 year experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Valid FL driver’s license and successful level II background check, physical and drug screen.
• Must be 21 years older or older.

Responsibilities

• Assists and supports the student to develop strategies, make informed choices, follow through on responsibilities, and take risks.
• Uses effective, respectful, sensitive communication skills to build rapport and channels of communication to all stakeholders.
• For long term substitute assignments, participates as an active member of the students’ TIEP meetings.
• Maintains collaborative professional relationships with the student and all interdisciplinary team members (including family/friends), follows ethical standards of practice (e.g., confidentiality, informed consent, etc.), and recognizes his or her own personal limitations.
• Contributes to program evaluations and helps to set organizational priorities to ensure quality.
