Job summary

Westside Community Schools in Omaha, Nebraska seeks a Substitute Elementary Kitchen Manager for the Nutrition Services department. This 10-month position runs roughly 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and supports multiple school kitchens as needed.

You will supervise kitchen staff, maintain food quality and safety standards, and complete required daily/weekly reports, collaborating with school staff and students.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate well with others.
• Ability to take direction from Supervisory Staff.
• Knowledge and ability of cleaning kitchen and preparation of food processing paperwork.
• Experience supervising a kitchen team is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and direct kitchens on an as needed basis in any Westside Community Schools location.
• Report to the Nutrition Services Operations Manager and the Director of Nutrition Services.
• Complete all required daily and weekly reports.
• Be able to use and train on the use of all kitchen equipment necessary for preparation of food.
• Maintain district's standards on food quality, safety and professionalism.
