Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable Substitute Educational Aides to support students and teachers when regular staff are absent. This role helps maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment and assists with classroom activities, student support, and continuity of services across general and special education settings.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess the required educational aide permit or higher license per state regulations.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations).
• Clean criminal background checks.
• Ability to work with children in a patient, supportive, and professional manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classrooms and student needs.
• Physical ability to assist students as needed (e.g., mobility support, classroom tasks).
• Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers by assisting with instruction, activities, and supervision.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, including those with special needs.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist.
• Assist students with daily tasks such as organization, transitions, and engagement in lessons.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, or during arrival/dismissal.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.
• Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans, and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and administrators.
• Document student observations or incidents as required.

Substitute aides assist with classroom activities, provide individualized student support, and help ensure continuity of services across general education and special education settings.
