Dedicated School Staffing in Huron, OH is seeking a dependable Substitute Educational Aide to support students and teachers when regular staff are absent. You will assist with classroom activities and help ensure continuity of services across general education and special education settings.

This on-call, part-time role requires patience, strong communication, and the ability to follow lesson plans. Eligible candidates must meet state requirements and pass background checks; flexible scheduling

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license as required by state regulations.
• Clean criminal background checks.
• Ability to work with children in a patient, supportive and professional manner.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classrooms and student needs.
• Physical ability to assist students as needed.
• Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom teachers by assisting with instruction, activities and supervision.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, including those with special needs.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist.
• Assist students with daily tasks such as organization, transitions and engagement in lessons.
• Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, or during arrival/dismissal.
• Help maintain a safe, respectful and positive learning environment.
• Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans and safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff and administrators.
• Document student observations or incidents as required.

About the Role

Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable and compassionate Substitute Educational Aides to support students and teachers when regular staff are absent. Substitute aides assist with classroom activities, provide individualized student support, and help ensure continuity of services across general education and special education settings.
