Job summary

GLEAMNS Human Resources, Inc. seeks a childcare assistant to supervise preschool children, implement the daily program, and assist the teaching team in all daily activities.

The position requires reliability and a caring demeanor to support young learners in a safe environment. You will help serve meals and sit with children during meals, maintain clean and orderly classrooms, follow center policies, and report any concerns or suspected abuse to a supervisor.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent plus experience working with preschool children in a child care center.
• Courses in early childhood may be accepted in lieu of experience.

• Supervise and ensure the safety and well being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group.
• Implement the daily program according to the lesson plans furnished by the regular teaching team.
• Assist assigned teacher in any way possible.

• Keep classrooms, storage rooms, and bathrooms clean, neat and orderly.
• Be familiar with and follow all procedural policies.
• Report to Supervisor any special needs or problems of individual children.
• Report to Supervisor any cases of suspected child abuse or neglect.
• Handle discipline promptly and in accordance with stated policy on discipline.
• Must be cooperative and discuss center matters at the center.
