Job summary

Region 18 Education Service Center seeks a full-time custodian to maintain clean school facilities and support district operations. You will perform cleaning, flag duties, basic maintenance, and assist with safety protocols.

The position requires a high school diploma or higher and Texas ID or driver’s license. You will collaborate with staff and students to ensure a safe, welcoming environment while following district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/equivalent or higher.
• Must have a valid Texas Operators License or valid Texas ID.

Responsibilities

• Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times (sidewalks, driveways, ramps, stairs, play areas).
• Regulates heating, ventilation, and air conditioning to maintain comfortable temperatures and efficient energy use.
• Raising the US flag daily by 7:45 a.m. and lowering it after 4:00 p.m. on school days.
• Sweep classrooms daily, dust furniture, clean windows and sills.
• Clean all dry erase boards when requested.
• Maintain scheduled servicing for motors and mechanical equipment.
• Demonstrate punctuality and dependability on the job.
• Work cooperatively with fellow workers.
• Ensure security of assigned areas and building.
• Uphold safety rules and district policies.
• Attend work regularly to avoid disruption of operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Provide optimal customer service to students, staff, parents, and community members.

Major Responsibilities And Duties

• Keeps building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, ramps, stairs, play areas neat and clean at all times.
• Regulates heat, ventilation, and air conditioning system to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to ensure economical usage of fuel, water, and electricity.
• Raises the United States flag at or before 7:45 a.m. on each school day, and lowers it at or after 4:00 p.m.
• Sweeps classrooms daily and dust furniture, clean windows, and sills.
• Cleans all dry erase boards upon request.
• Maintains a regular schedule of all motors and other mechanical equipment requiring scheduled servicing.
• Demonstrates punctuality and dependability on the job.
• Works and cooperates with fellow workers.
• Assumes responsibility for the security of assigned area of responsibility and of building.
• Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the CCAISD safety program.
• Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies
• Demonstrates the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption of district operations.
• Performs any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor.
• Provides optimal customer service to all students, employees, parents, community members and any other stakeholders of the district.

CCAISD will require additional documentation (background check and fingerprinting) if hired as proof of eligibility for employment. Any foreign documents must be translated and evaluated by an accredited state agency.
