Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Custodial Substitute for the Tenino School District to maintain a clean and safe learning environment. This is a substitute position that may require work on short notice.

Responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common areas; sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming; and setting up chairs and tables for events. The role requires independence, teamwork, and reliable adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior custodial experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to pass a background check & fingerprint clearance.

• Dust and wipe down surfaces
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling
• Set up and take down chairs, tables, and other equipment for events
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior custodial experience preferred

• Good communication skills
• Physical ability to perform custodial tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds
• Ability to pass a background check & Criminal Justice Fingerprint Clearance.
