Camden City School District is seeking a Substitute Custodian to perform custodial tasks across instructional areas, restrooms, walkways, and common spaces. The role requires reading English instructions, adherence to safety standards, and ability to lift heavy loads as needed.

The position reports to the Lead Custodial Foreman and participates in maintaining a clean, safe school environment with occasional evening or weekend assignments as needed.

Competenze

• Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, materials, and equipment.
• Custodial-related experience preferred.
• Personal qualities of orderliness and neatness.
• Ability to read and follow directions on supplies/equipment printed in English.
• Heavy lifting up to 50 pounds and perform heavy-duty tasks.
• Valid driver’s license, current insurance, vehicle with valid registration.
• Required criminal history background check, physical, and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.

• Sweep, mop, buff, wash and related cleaning tasks in instructional areas, toilets, hallways, and entrances.
• Clean and dust walls, lockers, furniture, plumbing fixtures, and other areas as appropriate.
• Wash windows and glass areas.
• Maintain stockroom and storage areas safely; remove rubbish and debris.
• Move supplies, furniture and equipment as directed by Principal/Supervisor using proper safety equipment.
• Inspect/detect unauthorized access per Principal/Supervisor instructions.
• Check fuel/oil levels and replace light bulbs; perform minor repairs.
• Raise/lower the flag according to protocol.
• Report dangerous or unsightly conditions and dispose of rubbish.

ROLE&RESPONSIBILITIES

Majorresponsibilitiesoftheroleinclude,butarenotlimitedto:

• Sweep,mop,buff,washandperformrelatedcleaningtasks,includingbutnotlimitedtoallinstructionalareas,toilets, walkways, asphalt areas, hallways, entrances, meeting rooms, etc.
• Cleananddustwalls,blackboards,lockers,furnitureandplumbingfixturesandotherareas/itemsasappropriate
• Washwindowsandotherglassareas
• Maintainstockroom,storageareasandsupplyclosetsinasafemanner,includingtheremovalofrubbishanddebris
• Movesupplies,furnitureandequipmentasdirectedbythePrincipal/Supervisor,usingappropriatesafetyequipmentand procedures
• Heavyliftingofaminimumoffifty(50)poundsandtheperformanceofheavydutytasks
• Assistinmakingsurealldoorsarelockedandunlockedandallareasaresecuredtopreventunauthorizedaccessasdirected by the Principal/Supervisor
• Checkfuel/oillevels(whenappropriate),replacelightbulbsandmakeminorrepairs
• Raiseandlowertheflag,accordingtoprotocol
• Reportorcorrectdangerousorunsightlyconditionsonandaroundthepremisesincludingdisposalofrubbish
• Assistinmaintaininganinventoryandsecuringequipmentandsupplies,includingbutnotlimitedtoapplicabletechnology such as HVAC, computers and other systems
• Performanceofassigneddutiesinaccordancewithgeneralacceptableindustrysafetystandards
• Conductperiodicbuildingchecksofalldoorsandotherareasasrequiredtomakesurethefacilityissecureandoperational when assigned evening and/or weekend assignments by Supervisor
• Ensurepropercareintheuseandmaintenanceofequipmentandsupplies;promotecontinuousimprovementofworkplace safety and environmental practices
• BeavailablewhencalleduponbytheSupervisororCentralAdministratorsaftertheregularworkday
• WillberequiredtosupportprojectsandinitiativesinotherdepartmentsthroughoutCCSDonanas-neededbasis
• OtherdutiesasassignedbytheSupervisororSupervisor'sdesignee
