Job summary

The DM Burr Group in Holly, MI is seeking a Part Time Sub Custodian to support school facilities cleaning. This on-call role covers 1st and 2nd shifts within the Holly School District, with flexible hours.

Responsibilities include operating floor scrubbers and buffers, sweeping, mopping, trash removal, and basic maintenance. Education requires a high school diploma or GED; lifting up to 40 lbs and ability to read labels are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or technical school certification.
• 0-6 months custodial/janitorial experience using floor scrubbers, buffers, stripping machines.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Reading and following label instructions on cleaning supplies.
• Following basic verbal & written instructions.
• Attention to detail and team-oriented.
• Flexible availability.

Responsibilities

• Use approved methods and materials in cleaning and caring for assigned facility.
• Operate and maintain equipment such as auto floor scrubbers, burnishing buffers, stripping machines and vacuums.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub and polish floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines.
• Empty trash receptacles.
• May remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls, and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions.
• General cleaning of furniture, window sills, and walls.
• Dust, wash walls, clean ceilings, and polish light fixtures.
• Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas.
• Clean/stock all restroom, janitorial closet and break rooms.
• Record and document cleaning functions on logs and report to Supervisor.
• Perform light building maintenance duties as needed.
• Report major safety items for repair.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
