The role emphasizes assisting with class activities, maintaining safety, and effective communication with parents, while meeting data privacy expectations and center policies.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must enjoy and respect young children and their families.
• Comfortable working with computers and willing to learn program-specific systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom staff with implementing daily activities and classroom management.
• Assist in implementing classroom activities aligned with the Creative Curriculum and classroom interests.
• Maintain flexibility to adapt to children’s interests.
• Lead some activities as directed by teachers or center leadership.
• Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents with professional boundaries.
• Know medical conditions/needs of the children and how to respond.
• Discuss communication messages to parents with the classroom team.
• Attend to children’s personal hygiene needs as required.
• Assume other duties as assigned by staff or center leadership.
• Maintain a safe, clean caregiving environment and follow safety/sanitation policies.
• Provide for the physical safety of each child in care and supervise at all times.
• Have or obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
