Job summary

Idaho Falls School District 91 is seeking a Substitute Child Nutrition Worker to support meal preparation, serving, and kitchen upkeep at district cafeterias. The on-call position offers opportunities to work in multiple cafeteria stations, promoting healthy meals for students.

Responsibilities include following nutritional guidelines, assisting with food preparation, packing meals for satellite sites, cleaning duties, and maintaining sanitation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen procedures and management.
• Possess a current Food Handlers Card or be able to qualify for a card after hired.
• Ability to work with staff, students and the public.
• Strong math and communication skill.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Willingness to try new ideas.
• Physically able to perform assigned duties.
• Available to work on short notice in any cafeteria position.
• Previous experience preferred, but not mandatory.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

3. REPORTS TO: Child Nutrition Supervisor.
   
4. JOB GOALS:
   To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
   To serve the students and staff nutritious and attractive meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth.
   
5. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

6. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
   1. Maintains accurate records and completes assigned paperwork.
   2. Performs all other duties as assigned.
      
7. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
   This is an on-call position. Wages will be in accordance with the Classified Salary Schedule Grade 1 $12.29 or $12.89 with a bachelors degree or 5 years relevant experience.
   This is a "at will" position in that the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time or for any reason consistent with applicable state or federal law. The "employment at will" policy cannot be changed verbally or in writing, unless the change is specifically authorized in writing and expressly approved by the Board of Trustees of District 91.
   
8. EVALUATION:
   Performance of this position will be evaluated by the Child Nutrition Supervisor in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on the evaluation of classified personnel.
   This position has been given an overall physical classification of medium duty.
