Job summary

Sylvania is seeking Substitute Bus Drivers to provide safe and efficient transportation for students, on an on-call basis. You may be assigned to various routes and trained in Michigan driving standards.

Opportunity to transition to full-time as a Bus Driver with the District. Qualifications include a high school diploma and Michigan driving certifications; prior driving experience is preferred or paid training is provided by the BC Transportation Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred; required driving certifications by the State of Michigan.
• PAID training provided by BC Transportation Department.
• Ability to maneuver large buses safely and efficiently.
• Ability to relate to students, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Be on call and readily accept driving assignments as they become available.
• Provide safe and efficient transportation for students.
• Substitute drivers may transition into a full-time Bus Driver position for the District.

Substitute Bus Drivers

Primary Function:

To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.

Be on call and readily accept driving assignments as they become available. Substitute drivers may work into a full-time Bus Driver position for the District.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School diploma preferred; required driving certifications by the State of Michigan
• Training and Experience: Previous bus driving experience preferred or PAID training provided by BC Transportation Department
• Demonstrated Technical Skills: Ability to maneuver large buses efficiently and safely
• Human Relations Skills: Ability to relate to students, staff, and community members.
