Title: Substitute Bus Driver (Training Provided)

Reports to: Transportation Director

Job Type: 2 or 4 runs per day/hourly

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
• Successful completion of driver training school
• Ability to pass a criminal background check
• Ability to pass a physical, including a drug test
• Possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) (Preferred)

Job Description:

• Utilize map-reading skills to drive bus to transport students over specified routes according to time schedule
• Maintain a good driving record by complying with traffic regulations
• Evacuate students from school bus in case of emergency
• Dealing with stressful conditions in a professional manner
• Perform and properly complete daily pre-trip inspections
• Comply with discipline policies set forth in the School Code of Conduct for Transportation
• Show proficiency in handling and maneuvering a school bus
• Build a good rapport with students and parents
• Be a flexible team player and willing to sub on a variety of different routes when needed
