Job summary

East Windsor Regional SD is looking for a Substitute Bus Driver to ensure safe transportation for students. Candidates must hold a CDL Class B driver's license with P and S endorsement and demonstrate physical dexterity to perform the duties of a bus driver.

The role requires effective communication skills and the ability to interact positively with students and adults. Work is needed on an as-needed basis throughout a 10-month work year, with a pay rate of $30 per hour.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B driver's license with P and S endorsement issued by Motor Vehicle Commission REQUIRED.
• Sufficient visual/motor reaction time to respond to emergency traffic situations.
• Ability to communicate directions to passengers.

SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVER

Location: Transportation

Effective Date: Immediately

Qualifications

CDL Class B driver's license with P and S endorsement issued by Motor Vehicle Commission REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate physical dexterity to perform the duties of bus driver including
• Push open bus door (approximately 25 pounds of force) and pull closed bus door (approximately 10 pounds of force)
• Drive for at least one hour continuously
• Lift a fire extinguisher to desk chair height to extinguish fires (approximately nine pounds)
• Perform all operations required to drive automatic transmission vehicles including bending, twisting or stretching to use gear shift, adjust or look in all mirrors to observe passengers and road for traffic, use radio
• Verbally communicate directions to passengers
• Sufficient visual/motor reaction time to respond to emergency traffic situations in order to operate vehicle safely
• Ability to interact positively with both students and adults

Salary: $30.00 per hour/no benefits

Work Year: 10-month work year/as needed basis
