Job summary

Gilmer County Board of Education seeks a Substitute Athletic Trainer to provide coverage for athletic programs in Gilmer County Schools. The role requires WV certification and adherence to state policies for athletic trainers, with registration requirements completed.

Salary is based on the Gilmer County Schools Athletic Trainer salary schedule and is pro-rated for time worked. The incumbent will support prevention, evaluation, initial care and rehabilitation of student-athlete injuries and

Qualifications

Hold or qualify for West Virginia Certificate as required under State Board Policy 5112 and 5202 as Athletic Trainer.
Must meet athletic trainer registration requirements pursuant to WV Code 30-20A ((1-7).)
Possess the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully carry out responsibilities of the position.

Responsibilities

Assumes responsibilities in the absence of the Gilmer County Schools Athletic Trainer.
Carry out practices of prevention, evaluation, initial care and physical rehabilitation of injuries sustained by students engaged in public school athletics.
Development and implementation of the athletic training program.
Management of the athletic training program.
Cooperate with building principal, athletic director, coaching staff, students, parents and community.
Follow purchasing procedures and board/league/ WVSSAC policies.
Engage in activities that foster professional growth and development.
Demonstrate professional conduct during games and practices.
