New Life Church and Academy is seeking a Substitute Aide to support Early Education or Kindergarten classrooms on an as-needed basis. You will assist the lead teacher, engage children in activities, and help maintain a nurturing, safe environment where students feel supported.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, prior experience with young children, and the ability to meet state childcare licensing requirements including a background check and health clearances.

Position Summary:

The Substitute Aide will support our Early Education or Kindergarten classrooms on an as-needed basis. Substitute aides step in when regular staff are absent, helping maintain a consistent, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel safe and supported.

Responsibilities:

Primary:

Classroom management – 100%

• Assist the lead teacher and classroom team in caring for and supervising children ages 3 – kindergarten.
• Follow the established classroom routines and daily schedule.
• Engage children in play, learning activities, and transitions.
• Support with basic needs such as toileting, meals, and rest time.
• Maintain classroom safety, cleanliness, and order throughout the day.
• Communicate with staff and children in a positive and respectful manner.

Working Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment and will routinely use standard office equipment such computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. The work environment also involves working in a Preschool-12 Private Christian School and Evangelical Church environment and all employees are expected to have a demonstrated and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Working Hours:

Typically, employees are expected to work during normal hours and days of business, between Monday and Friday. Specific expectations for each position will be communicated by the supervisor of this position. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required. This position works as needed, communicated by the school.
