Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field preferred.
  • Prior teaching, substitute teaching, tutoring, coaching, or youth development experience preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different grade levels and learning needs.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and sound judgment.
  • Must meet all applicable background screening and Academy employment requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Classroom Supervision: Implement assigned lesson plans when ASE is absent and maintain a productive classroom environment.
  • Academic Support: Guide student-athletes in completing assignments and accessing learning resources.
  • Student-Athlete Accountability: Enforce academy expectations related to attendance, engagement, and academic integrity.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a respectful, structured, and positive learning environment.
  • Communication & Reporting: Document attendance, participation, completed work, and concerns for ASE and leadership.
  • Academic & Athletic Alignment: Balance academic responsibilities with training, travel, and competition.
  • Technology & Learning Platforms: Use academy-approved platforms to support continuity of learning.
  • Collaboration: Work with ASE, coaches, and leadership to ensure consistent support.

This role provides instructional continuity, maintains classroom expectations, and supports students in achieving academic success within an elite athletic performance environment. The ideal candidate is adaptable, organized, and committed to fostering a structured, engaging, and student-centered learning experience.**Position Overview**The Substitute Educator is responsible for maintaining a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment when the Academic Success Educator (ASE) is absent.
