Job summary

OUC - The Reliable One is seeking a Project Engineer Substation/Transmission Project Management to lead electric substation capital improvement efforts. You will coordinate consultants, review designs for compliance, secure necessary resources, and represent OUC with stakeholders to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-efficient outcomes.

Ideal candidates bring a detail-driven, strategic engineering mindset, ABET-accredited degree, 4+ years in related roles, and a power systems certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree from ABET accredited college or university
• Minimum four (4) years total experience including electric utility substation project management and related design/construction experience
• Advanced certification in Power Systems (preferred)
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage activities of engineering consultants to ensure contract terms
• Review transmission and substation design specifications for compliance with OUC standards
• Coordinate resources (permits, property rights, materials, consultants, contractors) for project completion
• Recommend updated engineering standards and procedures to promote safe, reliable, and cost-effective systems
• Represent and negotiate OUC interests with consultants, vendors, contractors, developers, utilities and agencies
• Attend seminars and advanced technical training as needed to stay current
• Coordinate, guide, and train other personnel on projects as assigned
• Perform other duties as assigned
