Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp in the United States is seeking a Testing Site Coordinator III/IV/V to coordinate and oversee contracted testing and technical service interests for Transmission and Distribution substation projects. This role emphasizes safety, reliability, and adherence to FirstEnergy specifications.

Responsibilities include coordinating on-site testing activities, supporting constructability reviews, and planning for SCADA & apparatus testing while ensuring documentation meets compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or related field plus 8 years of experience.
• In lieu of a degree, 12 years of utility/construction experience is required.
• Experience in electrical substation construction and/or maintenance is required.
• Demonstrated teamwork and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Capable of delivering high-quality work within deadlines and timelines.
• Self-motivated, customer-focused and results-oriented.
• Strong analytical abilities for complex problems and decisive judgment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee testing and technical service for transmission and distribution substation projects.
• Support safety and reliability initiatives with internal teams and contractors.
• Attend project status meetings with Project Managers and contractors.
• Understand project scope, identify risks and potential delays in serving requirements.
• Assist with constructability reviews and post-project lessons learned discussions.
• Estimate testing schedules and ensure staffing adequacy for upcoming work.
• Develop contract service burn rates and track against estimates and forecasts.
• Ensure vendors have proper specifications, drawings, and tools for safe completion.
• Document quality requirements and ensure compliance across sites.
• Coordinate on-site testing with FE personnel and contractors.
• Review switching schedules and contingencies; plan SCADA & apparatus testing.
