Job summary

Sunflower Electric Power Corporation in Kansas is offering a Substation Technician Intern position in Garden City, Dodge City, or Colby. You will gain hands-on experience installing, inspecting, testing, and repairing substation equipment, including transformers and switchgear, working with AC/DC circuits between 48 and 600 volts.

Training is one-on-one with a safety-conscious team; travel within the service territory; learn to read construction drawings and substation diagrams; build experience

Qualifications

• Pursuing an electrical or related degree.
• Exposure to electrical safety practices preferred.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing, inspecting, testing, and repairing substation equipment.
• Learn operating procedures and safety protocols.
• Support field crew across service territory.
