Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking a Substation Technician to maintain, repair, and install electrical equipment and systems under supervision of the Substation Foreman. The role emphasizes safety, compliance, and reliable project delivery across North American sites.

You will assist with transformer banks, switchgear, bus structures, and other substation tasks, often around energized HV systems. OSHA 10/30 certification is preferred; CDL readiness is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years substation experience or two years of heavy electrical/industrial experience.
• Experience with hand tools, small power tools, shop machines, and heavy equipment.
• OSHA 10 and/or 30 certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installing transformer and transformer banks, bus structures and switchgear, lines (underground/overhead), ground grid, control buildings, and other related substation material tasks.
• Work with man baskets, skid steers, shovels, compactors, backhoes, and other industry equipment.
• Frequently work around energized high-voltage systems.
• Read and understand systems maps for substation layouts, capacities, and load areas.
