Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group in Blacksburg, VA is seeking a Project Substation Structural Engineer to lead structural design for large-scale energy and substation projects across North America. You will develop construction documents, perform analyses, and provide construction support while mentoring junior engineers.

You will collaborate with civil, geotechnical, and construction teams, apply sound engineering judgment, and work with independent initiative within a collaborative office

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure.
• Minimum 5 years design experience in the structural engineering field working with concrete and steel materials to support substation design.
• Familiarity with RISA, SPColumn, and AutoDesk INVENTOR.

Responsibilities

• Execute assignments requiring application of standard and advanced engineering techniques to support substation design.
• Perform structural engineering analyses for energy infrastructure buildings, substation support structures, foundations, and related systems.
• Perform finite element modeling for concrete or steel structures and develop associated reports.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, civil, and construction teams and prepare technical documents.
