Job summary

WSP is seeking an Intermediate Level Structural Engineer for our Fort Worth, TX office to contribute to electrical substation structural design and project delivery. You will work with engineers, designers, and drafters on foundations, supports, and control buildings, while ensuring compliance with codes and client requirements.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of relevant experience, a structural or civil engineering degree, and proficiency with RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, L-Pile, and MathCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering or closely related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant post-education experience.
• Knowledge of structural engineering principles and design processes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management.
• Analytical mindset with sound judgement.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience with design software (RISA 3D, RISA Foundation, L-Pile, MathCAD).

Responsibilities

• Design electrical substation structures including foundations and supports.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines on results.
• Prepare calculation packages meeting client, code, and WSP requirements.
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs.
• Ensure plans adhere to client and WSP standards.
• Manage budgets and schedules for multiple projects.
