Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Substation Structural Engineer in Portland, OR, to design civil/structural components for substation projects and prepare construction-grade drawings under supervision of a licensed civil engineer.

The role requires a BS in Civil-Structural Engineering with 2+ years of relevant experience or an MS with 1+ year, proficiency with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and structural software, and the ability to travel for client meetings and site visits. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

BS Civil-Structural Engineering with 2+ years' experience or MS with 1+ years' experience.
EIT preferred.
Experience with Word/Excel/PowerPoint and Mathcad.
Experience with STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, RISA 3D, FAD, SAFE, SAG10 and LPile (preferred).
AutoCAD or MicroStation familiarity preferred.
Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Responsibilities

Direct design of civil/structural components for substation projects.
Perform design calculations and develop construction-grade drawings under supervision.
Experience design to codes under seismic loading preferred.
Site visits to client facilities and occasional travel for meetings/events.
Ensure quality control and compliance with scope, schedule and budget.
Be part of a design team of engineers, designers and drafters.
