Job summary

HDR is seeking a Substation Structural EIT/Coordinator in Madison, WI to support Senior Engineers with site studies, layouts, and project documentation. You’ll handle site design, grading, drainage, and administrative tasks for civil/site projects, collaborating with senior engineers on larger efforts.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with an active commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture; EIT is preferred, with potential progression to Coordinator for those pursuing certification.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate preferred.
• Candidates without EIT may become Coordinators and must obtain EIT for progression.
• Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, plus civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Autodesk Infraworks with Civil 3D; OpenFlows as required.
• Bachelor's degree required and active participation in our employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with site studies, site designs, contract documentation preparation and graphic presentation.
• Perform overall site layout, grading, utility layout and drainage.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for civil/site projects.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Perform other duties as needed.
