Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a seasoned Startup Manager for on-site field execution in Utah. You will direct the commissioning, startup, and transition to operations, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities include budgeting, resource allocation, and developing startup packages to track progress. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in startup roles, engineering background, and experience with relay, SCADA and apparatus testing.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of startup experience, including one previous assignment as startup manager.
• Onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and driving records as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Lead startup and commissioning activities per CPM schedule and budget.
• Manage startup staff priorities and activities.
• Develop and maintain startup schedules and packages to track progress.
• Maintain open communication with the client and project team.
• Oversee startup budget and man-hours; ensure compliance with contract commitments.
• Create startup procedures aligned with contract requirements.
• Plan and prepare for startup activities and milestones.
• Implement a coordinated operations control program for smooth execution.
• Manage spares, consumables, and material deliveries.
