Title: Substation Project Manager

Location: Oakbrook Terrace IL 60181-Hybrid (remote- Monday and Friday if onsite work is not required)

Contract: 24 months Contract

Pay Rate: $80-82/hr. (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Job Description:

Client is seeking a highly capable Project Manager to lead and oversee various substation programs across its service territory. The ideal candidate must be able to independently manage and drive multiple projects through different phases—engineering, construction, and closeout—by effectively engaging stakeholders and ensuring alignment with budget and schedule requirements. The role demands strong prioritization skills, the ability to influence program strategies, and the flexibility to perform site walkdowns and travel to project locations as necessary.

Requirement

Independently drive projects to resolution by coordinating with appropriate stakeholders.

Conduct site walkdowns (e.g., substations, gravel areas) and travel to job sites as needed.

Manage multiple projects concurrently at different stages (engineering, construction, closeout).

Prioritize projects effectively and influence stakeholder decisions to align with budget and schedule constraints.

Be accountable for substation programs across the client's service territory, involving various phases of project execution.

Required Capabilities:

Strong project execution and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to handle field visits and physical site inspections.

Strategic thinking for project prioritization and lifecycle management.
