Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related experience within the utility construction industry.
  • Experience managing electrical utility construction projects, including substation, transmission, or distribution work preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of utility construction practices, project scheduling, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across a large geographic area while meeting deadlines and client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day management and administration of project safety programs and ensure compliance with company and client requirements.
  • Oversee construction activities to ensure projects are completed in accordance with design, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, field teams, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Prepare project estimates, proposals, drawing take-offs, and change orders.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, profitability, and overall financial performance.
  • Coordinate project setup, scheduling, document control, cost tracking, billing, and material procurement.
  • Manage subcontractors, approve project costs, payroll, equipment reporting, and support timely invoicing.
  • Work closely with field leadership to ensure projects remain adequately staffed and resourced.
  • Travel regionally as required to support multiple active projects.

Role Description

The Substation Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of electric utility construction projects from pre-construction through completion. This individual will manage project safety, schedules, budgets, quality, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
