Job summary

Foundation Personnel Inc. is seeking a Project Manager to lead electrical construction projects in substations and power systems, guiding planning, estimating, procurement, execution and closeout from start to finish.

You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage client relationships, control budgets and schedules, review drawings and specs, and mentor junior staff while ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery across $2M–$20M+ projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of project management experience within electrical construction, substation construction, or power systems.
  • Experience with projects valued at $2M–$20M+.
  • Experience with substation, transmission, or medium- to high-voltage electrical infrastructure.
  • Experience with estimating for high-voltage or power construction projects preferred.
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction management software preferred.
  • Strong financial and cost management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical construction projects from planning through completion, including procurement, execution, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, procurement, and material coordination.
  • Lead and mentor Assistant Project Managers and project support staff.
  • Manage change orders, including identification, pricing, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Monitor project costs and forecast financial performance through completion.
  • Coordinate with field supervision and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Prepare project status reports, schedule updates, and financial summaries.
  • Prepare estimates for substation and medium- to high-voltage electrical construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Participate in pre-bid site walks, bid strategy meetings, and subcontractor/vendor solicitations.
  • Review estimate assumptions, exclusions, clarifications, and project risks.
  • Support the transition from estimating to project execution.

Job description

The Project Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of electrical construction projects within the substation and power systems sector, from planning and estimating through execution and closeout.
