Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Intern - Substation in Overland Park, KS. The internship offers hands-on work within a large multiversity environment, mentorship, and opportunities to network with experts in power, renewables, and engineering services.

The role emphasizes learning through supervised tasks, exposure to P&IDs, schedules, specifications, and coordination with project teams while gaining insight into project scope, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• No experience required. Currently enrolled in ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred.
• Self-starter with strong initiative; analytical mindset; strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Gain experience through meaningful work assignments.
• Network with experienced professionals and executives.
• Assist in preparing engineering deliverables such as P&IDs, schedules, and specifications.
• Learn department design guides, standards, systems, and applicable codes.
• Assist in understanding project scope, schedule, and budget; participate in internal reviews.
