Job summary

XKIG seeks a Substation Groundman to support construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment across multiple locations in the U.S. The role involves building foundations, testing engines, and reading blueprints, with potential state-to-state travel.

The position requires physical work, lifting over 50 lbs, and willingness to work overtime. This is a full-time, on-site role with benefits discussed during hiring.

Qualifications

• 6 months of construction experience or graduation from line school.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read/write and communicate effectively.
• Able to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able to lift 50+ lbs.
• Able to lift an excess 50 lbs.
• Willing to work overtime when requested.

Responsibilities

• Assist with building concrete foundations, ground grids, and steel erection Buswork (high/low voltage).
• Assist in testing gas driven engines powering electric generators.
• Monitor emissions to troubleshoot engines, generators, and switchgear.
• Learn to read and interpret drawings and blueprints.
• Dig trenches and climb poles/towers to perform duties.
• Troubleshoot and repair substation equipment as required.
• Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools.
• Participate in pre-job briefing delivery.
• Work from a bucket or climb structures at various heights.
• Operate River City vehicles and equipment.
• Operate River City Vehicles and equipment.
